I noticed a particularly large and prominent bit of grafitti on a retraining wall on the right side of 385 heading north, right before downtown. Graffiti particularly bothers me, probably more than most people. Who's job is it to clean this off? Is there someone I should notify?
Heck, if the city can lend me a power washer or a sandblaster I'll clean it off myself.
I saw the same thing sadly. Impossible to completely stop idiots from doing stupid things no matter how great the city is. I would contact Greenville Cares and SCDOT. Google them to get their contact info.
in Rochester, NY a business owner(artist) owned a huge older warehouse building that faced a CSX railyard, they started calling it "The Legal wall" because he let anyone come out and paint. I wish there were more places that allowed this. Some of the graffiti I have seen is amazing.
Of course as I think of this I googled it and apparently it is no longer legal there, too many problems with ppl getting out of hand, oh well, I still think it was a great idea!
If the police catch the person or people involved, they should have to clean up the mess. Glad to see the cities/counties in the area being productive about the problem instead of just letting it remain and getting out of hand like i've seen in other metros including Atlanta and Montreal.
$1800 to replace a "stop" sign and a speed limit sign is a complete rip off to tax payers. It shouldn't cost them a penny over $150 to buy the signs and put them up. I'll take a wild guess. Is it because the government is cleaning up after the tagger that it is so expensive?
I have noticed "FEAS" the same tag in many different places throughout Greenville. My family and I were on the Swamp Rabbit Trail yesterday and saw the same thing on several buildings, a trailer and right on the trail. They all looked as if they had been done in spray paint. Then as we made our way through Cleveland Park we saw were some kids had graffitied the same trail with chalk. I didn't mind the latter as much cause I know the chalk will lash away in the rain. P.S. "FEAS" If you are reading this switch from spray paint to chalk please.
It is crucial that this stuff be cleaned off as soon as possible. Vandals get their thrills from seeing their work and having others see it. When it is immediately removed, their work goes in vain and it frustrates them.
