Are subdivisions with pools common there? What time of the year are they open?

Any suggestions of subdivisions that have pools with single family homes under $100K? (Greenville and surrounding areas) Also, if you know the HOA's, please post as well.

I believe most of the newer subdivisions do have pools. The one I live in opens this coming weekend. Usually later in May due to the water needs to heat up a bit, but some HOAs open earlier.

There are many subdivisions with pools, and there are also subdivisions that allow people who don't live there to purchase a pool membership each season.

My subdivision's pool opened in early May this year. It's usually up to the HOA and depends on if it's a heated pool or not.

I live in Mauldin. Our community pool opened May 5th and will close the last Sunday of September. Almost all subdivisions have pools but I am worried about your price range being too low in Greenville to have one. I know a few that don't have pools but they are smaller neighborhoods. Have you searched real estate ads? There are homes in my neighboorhood starting around $130k.

I haven't been in the pool yet this year; it's generally too cold up to and slightly past Memorial Day.

The cheapest I could find was $115K in Simpsonville.

At that price point you are talking townhouse if you want a pool. Lots of good townhouse communities at or near that price in the Greer area.

I think OP you are going to have a very hard time finding something under 100K in Greenville and maybe even in Spartanburg. You may want to re-think homeownership and start looking at rentals you can afford. If you get into a subdivision with a pool you should be allowed to use it as a renter.

Do you have any idea how much a pool membership costs? Per person, per family? What do they give you some type of badge?

We had one for a powdersville neighborhood and paid 300 for the family for the season. They gave us a badge. I emailed this yr and have not heard back. I think they are no longer doing it.

My kids paid $350 a year for their family of four. I'm not sure whether they gave them a badge, but I know they were also entitled to a guest pass or two.
