I have been involved in right of way acquisition and rezoning on several fronts. I know the costs and the time involved.
Look how freaking long it is taking to add extra lanes to I-385. I would never live to see the thing completed.
I have no problem getting anywhere in the Up
state.
Harr-RUMPH!

If roads were better planned and constructed over 40 years ago, Greenville's network of controlled access freeways, if any, would look different. Two of these ideas would be a spur from I-385 at Haywood Road to Wade Hampton Boulevard and North Pleasantburg Drive and the Reedy River Expressway, which would have connected South Academy Street to Travelers Rest.

Driving around overseas and certain parts of the country we could use more circular intersections; then we can coast to the destination!

Yep, works for me. Let the ones that want it pay for it.

Regardless of how it is paid for, it needs to be built now before it becomes near impossible in the coming decades. Even if they are underutilized, they would be smart for future planning. Although I-185 isn't receiving maximum use, as Greenville county fills out, they will have an increasing number of vehicles on them. You mention the cost of acquiring right of way but do you believe this will decrease over time?

I don't have to get the money. I already pay my part like most people. Turn off the news. Do you believe everything they say? No government is truly broke. You act like you are the only person that pays anything.
By the way, did you go down and count the money yourself or did the media say it?

If you naively believe everything government or media says, no i'm not. Lol. You are welcome to have your opinion though, just don't get upset because someone has a different opinion.
