Good for you, but I'm not willing to do that. I'd rather stay single.
ETA: But, I won't have to stay single since Al Gore (snicker) invented this wonderful thing called the Internet. Combined with a reliable car, it's easy to meet educated, professional black men if you know where to look. So, no worries.

smallvictories: I think what they are saying is that people who are already married seem to be happier here, although I don't know how one would judge that.
I didn't say there were no pickings, I said the pickings were extremely slim. And they are.
You really should be in a much larger city/metro area for very much in that area - it just stands to reason that that's where that particular demographic would gravitate to. Don't expect Greenville to have the demographics of a Boston. Do your due diligence in advance and know what you're getting into.

Are you one of those white people who likes to tell black people what it's like to be black? How exactly would you know what the dating pool is like for single, highly-educated and upwardly-mobile black women in Greenville if you aren't one? Stay in your lane.
Columbia would be better for that given its demographics, but you should really be living in Charlotte, Raleigh, or Atlanta.

I'll probably end up back in the Atlanta metro just because of my future career plans, and I kind of feel "meh" about it. Atlanta's not my favorite place. It's changed a lot, and for the worse. BUT, the industry I'm preparing to enter is booming there, so you go where the money, contacts, and business are. It doesn't hurt that there are a lot of brand new homes available for sale in the metro at crazy affordable prices. The real estate meltdown was bad for Atlanta but good for me, because I'll be ready to buy in a few months.
That said, I'm not really trying to meet anyone at the moment, and I didn't mean to give that impression. I'm about to start preparing for a new career and there is a lot getting ready to be on my plate. Starting a new relationship would be too distracting, especially if he was fine enough to make me drool, LOL. So, no datey-date for me. Twitterpation and exams don't go together, LOL.
I was just chiming in with a tidbit of factual information about a demographic that's usually ignored when it comes to reports and lists like the one that's the subject of this thread.
Any organized group can do or commission their own "survey", so as always, take it with a grain of salt..
And there you go... I've seen almost identical surveys on other small cities comparable to here, ranging from A-Z topics which are extremely questionable. Yet... The hand full here that catch a positive survey and immediately post, consider it Southern gospel with no skepticism. It makes for a pungent smell.....
