This isn't much money to them in the grand scheme of things, when you look at the money they take in and the money they spend on things.
If you want to nitpick costs regarding healthcare, you should first consider the huge amounts of money spent by pharmaceutical companies for advertising, the ease with which people can frivolously sue doctors and hospitals, and the gross inefficiency of our government-sponsored healthcare initiatives. Bon Secours securing naming rights for a second tier arena is very small potatoes in comparison.

Those are valid points as well. But all I ever hear is hospital budgets are very tight, especially due to upcoming healthcare reform and Obamacare. There are a lot of hard working support level workers who are low salaried and denied good pay raises. So it is aggravating when they waste 4 million dollars on a questionable marketing scheme. But can't provide a good salary to many important workers. Those who work in food service, material service, equipment management, and environmental services find this sort of waste very frustrating. They work hard providing important functions, but find their salaries frozen and raises denied.
