I felt the Virginia earthquake a few years ago down here in Gray Court. That one felt like the washing machine went into a spin cycle..
This one was certainly stronger.. Three people in the house, we all looked at each other and immediately went to check to see if the neighbors house (Which i've been saying is a meth lab for 6 months) was still standing. After determining it was.. Checked the USGS site and within 15 minutes it was posted there.
Still wasn't anything to really write home about. Interesting conversation piece, but.. No way in hell that there should have been multiple hours of coverage on Fox Carolina about it. And.. Who are these people calling 911 asking "What was that?"
I live in Greer. Was sleeping in my recliner at the time and didn't feel a thing. I had no clue until I saw the news this morning that South Carolina gets 12-13 earthquakes each year.
[quote=USNRET04;33482123]Also felt it in Simpsonville, house shook. Didn't bother dogs or kids! [quote]
that surprised me as well. our dogs didn't seem to care. you'd think they go nuts but nothing. the kids also didn't say anything but they might have been computer zombies at the time.
Felt it here in Greenville! I was already in bed, and, boy did it shake.
