Got bored last week and decided to follow an old rail siding on Gap Creek road in Duncan, a few blocks south of Wade Hampton BLVD. The siding ends at the edge of a forest but many MANY years ago it had continued on to what was apparently a mill of some sort? Does anyone have any idea what once stood here, or even better have any pictures or information about it? I cannot find anything online.

It was a mill at one time. I do not know how long ago it was demolished and when the power station was erected on site.

If you use the satellite view of any map and look on the eastern side along the North Tyger River, you will notice a bridge crossing the river. I would think this was the terminus of the CSX spur at one time.

Its actually not a bridge....its a dam......or rather it was a dam at one point. There is also the remains of a drag scrapper and some sort of rail car out there.

If anyone has any other info about the mill, it would be appreciated!
