Thanks for the update. There are going to be many happy customers out there.
Aldi #93 will make customers happy with additional competition. I wonder how it will impact the Save-a-Lot limited grocery assortment section at Rite Aid #11650 (1100 West Wade Hampton Boulevard, Greer, South Carolina 29650-1240).
From what I understand Aldi is a "less healthy" version of Trader Joes, i.e. some of the good quality and organic products that TJ's has, but a lot of processed crap that Walmart has. Basically, you can hunt and peck for the good stuff, like a grocery version of Ross.

I expect that Save-a-lot location to close its doors within a year or two of Aldi opening. With Walgreens down the street offering better retail/drugstore options, and Aldi offering far superior groceries...just don't see how they can survive. Will also be interesting to see how Bi-Lo fares as well, with the new competition from Walmart neighborhood market and now Aldi.

Rite Aid has closed three stores with Save-a-Lot limited grocery assortment sections in Greenville and Pickens counties this year. Rite Aid #11650's pharmacy keeps the store in business.

I disagree. The products are supposed to be the same as Trader Joe's sold under Aldi's generic name. It does have some processed stuff but plenty healthy choices. The veggies and fruits are very fresh and very reasonably price compared to other grocery stores. If you've never shopped there, you should check it out sometime

Aldi has removed certified synthetic colors, partially hydrogenated oils, and MSG from all of its exclusive brand products. 90% of their food is sold under their own label.
