I would like to order some popcorn for a party. Do any of the local grocery chains in Greenville/Simpsonville have popcorn (that's popped in the store) that you can order in advance? I seem to remember a friend ordering popcorn from a grocery store that came in large plastic bags. Any ideas?
I've never heard of that around here, either. Worked at a grocery store once. We didn't offer that.
I think you can buy bags (think potato chip aisle) of popped popcorn. In the old days, you could see the product through the plastic, but newer packaging just shows the picture. Maybe the see through plastic shortens the shelf life.
I have seen it at Ingles in the deli in bags like above picture but I doubt it is popped fresh in store.
The only store I can think of that pops fresh in store is the snack counters at Target on Woodruff Rd and Simpsonville. The Greer store no longer offers it sense they expanded the in-store Starbucks. Not sure if large quantities can be ordered you would just have to call them.

My local Ingles sells the bags in the deli & it's displayed right at the popper.
Ingle's had popcorn machines in their video departments. As video departments have been replaced by pharmacy departments, stores have either relocated the machines to the delicatessen department or have removed them altogether.
