A friend-- senior Christian widow -- is searching for an apt with level walk in, laundry hookups. Any ideas.

I was looking for the same thing when I moved to Greenville 2 years ago. Found one halfway decent for $800 on Pelham Rd, but the rent has gone up quite a bit each new lease and is now over $1100. I'm following this thread to see if anyone has any suggestions because the rent around here has gone crazy.

Greenville, SC. I neglected to say she needs a place for $700 or less. We've been looking but pretty discouraged. Seems sort of impossible. At that price if any are available, the area isn't great-- and from my research, rent is going up constantly in Greenville. I'm thinking we need to buy a little house and rent it to her ! Lol. Apparently the rental market here is hot.

The local apartments are being filled by lower wage immigrants where I live. Thanks to open borders and corporations flying these folks in to save money and create wage pressure on office types.

Try locating in Simpsonville or Easley. She'd be nearby but maybe get cheaper rent.

I did see a place that was $139 a week over by the Laurens Road exit for i-85. It's an old hotel and I am not sure if the offer is still available, but it would be under $700 a month and in Greenville County, almost in the city limits.
