On a whim, I happened to take the family to Ruth's Chris last night (Christmas Eve) around 5:30 pm. Never been to RC before (although my wife and other out-of-town family members have).
I was unsure if it was open or if we could secure a immediate reservation. Called RC and was told by the manager to come now. The setting was quite nice and elegant. Overall, the meal was excellent and the service was unobtrusive. My wife and I ordered the filet and others ordered the ribeye. All came sizzling. We had several apps and salads including: shrimp cocktail (gigantic), lettuce wedge (wonderful), and the crabtini. Meal sides included: sweet potatoes, asparagus, and onion rings (awesome). They accommodated our kids (we have 3) without problems. They each had chicken fingers, the "steakburger", and fried shrimp. Only complaints: the asparagus was a little overcooked and my kid's chicken fingers tasted frozen and not freshly prepared (well, this is a steak place after all).
I've eaten at Rick Erwins - my steak at RC was just as good if not a little better.
To my surprise, upon leaving RC at 7:15, we noticed the entire restaurant was nearly full. Wow...
