You forgot to post the sentence right after that one. Here's what it says:
"But we do not think that that's going to happen," he said.
Yeah, but what do they know. They've been wrong before. If Greenwood is in the advisory then Greenville will get a decent amount usually. Thats where I used to live.
Not if the cold front pushes the low system northeast bound. It's a very complex system so the forecast could easily change. It all depends on where the low fully develops. Here's a discussion on it: http://www.easternuswx.com/bb/index....186730&st=1500
Tonight: A chance of rain before 8pm, then a chance of rain and snow between 8pm and 10pm, then a chance of snow after 10pm. Cloudy, with a low around 27. North wind between 6 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Looks like we got out just in time from our long weekend trip up there. The last time we were in Greenville in January we actually got snowed in coming home when I-26 got closed.
When I first moved here from Chicago, I laughed when the news stations made such a big deal out of the winter storm advisories. To us Midwesterners, a few inches of snow is nothing. After driving home in our only snowstorm last January during the height of the storm on some hilly, curvy streets without salt or plows, I began to understand.
I think we're not going to get that much in Greenville, and it will likely be gone before dinner. But, if I'm wrong, I'm ready!
The hysteria over a little bit of snow would be comical, if it were not so revealing of the fear of the unfamiliar.
It's an opportunity for good folks to be compasionate to that live it regularly this time time of year, expand ones horizons, and appreciate the gifts that might be taken for granted.
There are more homeless year than more recent years because of the economy. Maybe we need to think of them before milk and bread? Some of them being children.
I'm a Yankee transplant, and use to thinking of those colder than me.
Just thinking out loud.....
Good nite, God Bless, let's be careful out there!
