I moved here from Florida and I was waiting to see snow here this year. I did get some fluries last sunday, Jan. 18, 2009 as I leave near Pickens. However, It was suppose to snow today and we got nothing. My kids are getting desperate to see snow here. I have heard that if it comes from Atlanta we are getting it. What are the chances to get snow this year here?

Definitely not every year, but I would estimate 3 or 4 out of every 5 years. The remaining 1 or 2 years usually bring ice rather than snow.

From my experience, it was snow almost every year, but some years are more than others. (About five years ago my home in Spartanburg got 10 inches). Some years it's none. =/

You might check the weather channel to see whether some of the nearby mountain areas are getting snow. It's not very far to Asheville, or on up to Boone. It might make a nice trip and your kids could see the snow.
