thought I would bring this thread back as I did finally get to visit this place and I was very impressed! First to answer the beers question, they have a great selection of beers, from high end to basic, I started with a yuengling and finished with a dogfish head 90 minute ipa!

Apparently there are no freezers in the place AT ALL. They cook everything to order with fresh ingredients. My first impression was that it looked like a 5 guys knockoff to be honest, but the menu is much better, many more choices and the burgers are much less greasy and move flavorful.

There is a pickup side and a dine in side(full service) to the cherrydale location, the dine in side has a full bar and I spent most of my meal chatting with the bartender, really great guy(I want to say his name was nick?) about the location and the restaurant in general. My wife and I had a great time, we will definitely be back very soon!!!

I had the pittsburgh style and my wife had some kind of bleu cheese and cajun seasoning burger, both were excellent! we also had a half and half of onion rings and fries, again, not as super greasy as five guys(but it was fried food, so don't expect miracles) but both were good and tasted super fresh

Is there a good Southern food restaurant in the Simpsonville area? I'm looking at taking some relatives that are coming down from Michigan to give them a taste of the south.

BTW, here is an interesting road food website: http://www.roadfood.com/

There is Stella's Southern Bistro, over on Fairview Rd. Stella's Southern Bistro | Lowcountry Restaurant | Simpsonville, SC. There is also a soul food/southern place right downtown. Sort of on the corner of Main and E. Curtis. Near the clock tower. It has sort of an unusual name and I can't remember it. Stella's is fairly upscale. The other place, not so much. I've not eaten at either of these but perhaps somebody else has and can offer an opinion.

Stella's is outstanding. Definitely my favorite place in simpsonville. It can be a little pricey but I've loved everything that I've had there. They serve upscale southern dishes. Soby's and sassafras in downtown Greenville are good too.
