I just noticed that 97.5 acres of Griffin Park owned by Jelks & Little will be offered at the 9/7 foreclosure sale at Greenville County Courthouse. There are several homesites in there on the sale as well.
I always thought this was a great concept but the location could not have been worse.
It has been looking bad for a while.

One of the few homes actually lived in at this development appears to be one of the Jelks family.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

it actually was a pretty good idea as everyone has slowly been moving that way. The land was cheap and the`village` across the street was supposed to be torn down with a mall taking it`s place.
Too bad the recession had to hit .Even the one on Verdae in a more prime location wasn`t immune to the economy.

Yeah the village needs to still be torn down. Even if they leave it as an empty lot it would be better. Nothing but drugs in that place any ways.

It looks like a lot of the individual houses are up for auction as well. Do you know if the pool was ever completed?

The rumor about The Village was really funny. It would have cost approximately $600,000 per acre to have moved the occupants and then remove the structures. I had several of the residents contact me and ask if I heard that. They said their postal carrier told them.

I drove through there a couple of months ago and do not remember seeing any signs of a pool. If I get a chance I will do a drive by tomorrow.

I just drove through about an hour ago and didn`t notice one. I saw yesterday where the realtor posted 2 houses on craigslist.

There is a pool which was completed, but it never opened. A few homes are under construction but most are on hold within the development.

Only two of the occupied homes are owned by the people living there. Rest are rentals.

Drove thru last week. Very sad. Houses are half finished, cafe is closed, and the pool is beautiful. Such a shame. It looks almost completely finished. One of the nicest pools around in a community I think. I hope someone can come in and make use of the pool.
