Hello-
I want to start off by saying that everyone on here is just awesome!!!! I have been on this page for four days now and not a RUDE person yet! Lots of great advice on here. So, my wife and I with our 2yr old and 14yr old will be visiting Greenville this weekend and will only really have Friday and Saturday for sight-seeing and fun. Any one have any ideals?
We will be coming in on Hwy 85, however I thought about leaving the scenic route Hy25 up through Travelers Rest heading back to Indiana. Is that a safe route. From Google earth it looks great.
Thanks Matt
You can spend lots of quality time (weather permitting) downtown on Main St and at Falls Park. It has a cool ultra-modern footbridge over the Reedy River with a bird's-eye view of the Reedy River Falls (this is a pretty big waterfall right in downtown!), and lots of nice, lushly-landscaped trails thru the park. Adjacent to Falls Park are coffee and ice cream shops on S. Main St.
There's also a brand-new Children's Museum downtown at the corner of Academy and College Streets which I hear is really cool.
Some other things to do:
- An indoor putt-putt golf course at Falls Park
- Stroll the Riverwalk
- For your 2 year old, Linky Stone Childrens Park is just up the Riverwalk
- Make sure you spend some time in Mast General Store
- Find the "Mice on Main"
- If you like baseball, the Shoeless Joe museum is by Fluor Field in West End
