This is one of those things that has been bugging me.
My wife's (long deceased) mother bought a block of cemetery plots long ago. The mother and brother are buried there. My wife has planned out the remaining plots will be used by her, her brother, and me.
I have no problem with any of this except we have no paperwork to show that we "own" these plots. They are grouped together with a stone perimeter around them.
The wife insists we don't need any paperwork-the cemetery folks will simply believe us when we say it is our plot.

I have a deed to 1/2 a plot my dad bought after my mom died. It looks like a real estate deed showing the purchase date, the space number, and a legal description of the exact legal geographical coordinates. It's also notarized with a notary signature and seal. It was issued by the church's cemetery committee. So, yes, I'm sure they received a deed or certificate showing who bought the plots, for how much, and exactly where in the cemetery they're located.
