Picked up a nice Crown N PPK. It has some pitting on the slide right and left. Looks like holster pitting where it sat in a holster. Other than that a bit of over all freckling but its still strong bluing. About 80 percent over all. No waffenampt marks so it was a 1935 manufacture by the serial no. and private purchase. No import marks so it was a bring back most likely as a war souvenir. I got it for 500 FTF locally. Sold it for 800. Its hard to know what they go for but I felt at 500 I paid a fair price for both of us. I got a good deal and he got about fair private seller value. Thing is these crown N and Eagle N or any war time PPK or post war up to 1968 PPK are hard to find in any shape. The grips had one small crack and the mag was freckled but was a banner only correct mag. Bore was excellent and it shoots excellent.
Prices in the blue books I can't go by, if you look at them sometimes you want to say, I will take that price or even ninety % of that price and other times its I would buy at that price all day long. So they are not very accurate at to where the market is.
Whats your thoughts on this gun?
if all the parts are original, and with the extra magazine, most prices on the pre 1945 ppk's are going for $1200-$6000 dollars depending on condition, markings, serial number and originality of the parts.
an extra original magazine will bring the price up a couple of hundred dollars.

This is not one of the PPKs that bring in any where near 1200. I posted it on the P38 forum and as suspected it was said no more than 600 and some said about 500 was a fair deal. It was not marked with any waffenampt marks adn to acheive even 3000 dollars it would have to be in much better condtion and have the RZM mark. Grips had a small crack in them and two pitting spots and freckling. Bore and function of the gun is excllent. I find one of these about every two years for a fair price. I would not pay for it what I sold it for. Its all its money IMO. But if you guys want one I can see what I come across and will post it here if they allow it. I was working on a nice AC43 p38 so will see how that goes.
