The Smith and wesson form and others have a thread where you don't chit chat but post links to where you can buy ammo or spec. ammo like 22lr. Not sure if that is something anyone here would want or the mods would want to police to keep the neg. nancys off and only post with links for buying would want to do. Just a thought.

http://www.gunbot.net/ammo/rimfire/22lr/

Click on the 22LR quick link at the top of the page (or whichever caliber you're interested in). Change the sort to price per round, then click to only show ammo that's in stock.

I bought a 500rd brick of decent 22LR (not the bulk packed stuff) for $30 from Cabella's last week.

Focus on the Negative again. yes some are trying to get top dollar and then 100 percent on ammo. But as you see the stuff that is .15 and under is sold out while the .9 a round is still there and has been for months. Just because someone posts an add on Ebay for a widget 20x the price of other sellers does not mean I have to buy it, and guess what? I don't. you can cry about things or work around them. I prefer to work around them. BTW Gunbot is a bit slow, you are behind the curve if you wait for them.

Unfortunately, by the time you tack shipping on that stuff, it costs that much more. I'll just run into Cabelas next time I'm in town.

The brick I bought was $0.06/rd or so. Plus I ordered a few other things at the same time and got free shipping.

So yeah, if you're buying a single box of 100rds of 22lr for $8 plus another $6 shipping then you aren't saving anything. If you get a coupon for free shipping or combine other things with the order to lower the shipping cost/item then you can do pretty good.

The cheapest thing in stock anywhere right now is $0.12/rd, but looking at the times apparently Midway had it for $0.05/rd early this morning and Glen's had it for $0.06 yesterday afternoon.

And yeah, gunbot has to wait on updates. So if a store only gets in a few boxes they'll sell out before gunbot updates. But large retailers like Cabellas get massive orders, so they'll be available for hours. I've bought 2500 rds through them at different times, mostly using gunbot to see when they get stuff in.

Also, you have to pay attention to what you're getting. The ammo going for $0.90/rd is CCI shotshells, and that stuff is always expensive.

if you want 22lr, find the gander mountain bucket of bullets. Make the product page your homepage. You'll catch it sooner or later.

Never had a lot of luck with gander. I have hit on gunbot but I also know its slow so I don't have as good a chance.

Sorry. I have no way to verify if somebody is recommending their own website or promoting their own sales. City Data / Guns and Hunting, is not a classifieds or For Sale forum.

At least one of you posts in EVERY THREAD every time you purchase anything. We don't need more of it
