I see the old style revolvers are fading away. Some like Colt are not making them anymore. I don't count the SAA made in low quantities as a revolver for the masses. I see Ruger making less then they did and some they do make are plastic composite. Smith prices have went way up for its revolvers also. I bought a Vaquero in SS 45lc in 98 for 325 new at a LGS, that same gun today is 6 to 700 bucks. The gun industry is headed to the cheap and easy plastic revolution. I am not saying poly is bad, Glock has shown us that. But I love the vintage guns. A poly gun has not in any way got the same cool factor as a vintage gun. Its like a new mustang vs a vintage 69 Mustang. The new one will not turn many heads the old one will turn a lot of heads.
Yet, some foreign companies are churning out very nice reproductions of "vintage" revolvers, both cartridge and cap 'n' ball, by the thousands.
They are fun to shoot!

I was not putting in that group SAA and percussion revolvers. My post was more for the swing out cylinder type guns. They are being dropped and only Taurus has any modern guns coming out. Although Taurus has not got the collector value that Smith, Colt and Ruger has.
Hmmm Revolvers are 5-6 shots where as semi autos average 10.
Whenever I see a guy in a movie or on TV who chooses to carry a revolver I think he is going to be a good shot.
Perhaps people in real life think that they will need those extra bullets to hit their mark?

There are too many situations where more than five or six rounds are fired. My compact Glock 23 uses a 13 round magazine. With one in the chamber, I have 14 chances to neutralize any threat. I also carry two spare magazines, giving me a total of 40 rounds. And changing out magazines is fast and easy. Even with speed loaders, you're pretty much out of the fight after five or six rounds, with a revolver.

That's what I was saying. The guy or gal with the revolver has to be a better shot.

357 mag has the best one shot stopping power. Not saying I would carry a revolver but I would not feel like I had a club either.
Depending on the direction our Nation is heading we may just start seeing them again in numbers.
