Help. I went to get my hair colored from a blond (yellowish) color to a darker brown color with blond highlight. I felt like the lighter hair was making me look pale. For some reason my hair ended up turning a red/orange color. My stylist said she went 3 shades darker. It looks very unnatural and I look even paler. I'm not happy with the red tones. I was looking "washed out" from the light blonde color but it looked much better then then it does know. I have an appointment with another lady tomorrow. Can she lighten the base color or any of it to a lighter brown with blond highlights?

I would try an all over permanent color in a dark NEUTRAL blonde. After that is done, use the bleach solution for blonde highlights in it. When you start to see it growing out, go back and do lowlights again in the dark neutral blonde along with the bleach highlights. It should be under control by then, and you can highlight or lowlight as you see fit afterwards. Good luck!
