Nancy Kerrigan, obviously of a different class, would look good no matter what she did with her hair. Same for Brooke Shields. At any age.
I think the key to pulling off super short hair when you are middle aged is you have to be thin and fit. If you have the slightest bit of pudge you are most likely going to look butch, jmo.

Good bone structure helps, too.

I'm glad women, especially moms, don't feel the need to chop off their hair and perm it like they did in the past. My hair is long and straight, and will probably always be. Occasionally I cut it shoulder length, but I grow it right back out. I'm 40.

Yep, I saw that the poll was closed, but the thread was revitalized so, yeah why not?

My mom's aunt has long beautiful white hair. She does not look silly.

As much as I would love to have super long hair, I just can't do it. Why????? Because I have very fine hair and believe me when I say long hair on fine -thin-hair looks like stringy you know what. It just does not look good on anyone.

So due to that I have shoulder length and yes it is greying. For me, I don't care how old someone is with the length as long as it is not fine.

Jamie Lee looks great with her pixie cut too and she can get away with it, she has nice little features. Days like today with the heat and humidity, I would love a pixie BUT did that once and regretted it. I do not have tiny little features. My nose is too big so I look foolish.
