I’m heading to Jamaica with a couple of my girlfriends in early March for a 30th birthday bash. However, I am unsure of how to wear my hair? Of course, I will be swimming and I need something that can style easily and go from pool to dining room in a flash. Any suggestions???
PS I am a blk female

Shave your head. It's all the rage in Jamaica. Trust me.

Lol I'd love to help but ummm you didn't give much details on your hair besides you being "black"

I mean are you natural or relaxed? How long is your hair? Are you ok with a weave or do you just want to wear your own hair?

Braids? From what I've been told, aside from the actual braiding process it's one of the easier styles to maintain. I really don't know much about African American hair, but when I would go to the beach with my mom's friend and her daughter, that's what they always did.

Or, even better, find a good salon/stylist and ask what they think would be best.

WoW
Well, my hair is relaxed and shoulder length. I'm not one for weave however, I don't want to go there looking a mess after one day at the Falls/pool. I've been hearing from friends that I should do a wet and wavy or kinky twist but I am unsure. I don't want anything heavy or hard to maintain.

The braids are a good idea however; I'm too old now (late 20's) to sit in a chair for half a day. Those college days are over. Thanks for the advice

How about a chignon for the wedding? And you could wear it in a bun while swimming. Have an awesome time in Jamaica!

Crochet braids. Easy and allows your scalp to breathe. You can install them long or short. Also easy to manipulate.

This post is rather old but it came up in my search for a similar question. I LOVE your hair and just wanted to know what kind of hair it was. I was going to get a sew in but I love this style so much. So if you get this and remember, I would really like to know what kind of hair that is. Thank you.
