To get a good haircut, the average charge is about $65-$75 (and I'd tip $15) I left paying for the haircut -$65+$15 tip=$80. Hair grows so fast that I'd need a haircut every 5 weeks but pushed it to 7 wks
Our town barber has been trying hard to drum up business. Last stint was putting balloons all over his car and parking it in front with the banner BARBER.
This barber is middle of the road regarding Cost.
Much better haircut than Supercuts which I've used for about 5 years. They only charge $15 plus I'd give $10 tip. So it's nice to spend under $50 and get a nice haircut.
Told a few people at work and they both told me they also use Barbers!
Gosh, I don't even want to pay $15.00 for a haircut! My husband and son need their hair cut every 2 to 3 weeks and mine is trimmed every 4 to 6 weeks. A good pair of scissors from Sally's Beauty Supply and a rechargeable cordless clipper, a BANGO and Crea clips, youtube and we are just set.
For us, it was a combination of cost and hygiene concerns that got us the best haircuts at home.
We live in a low cost of living area, which means low wages. Almost no one here would make $15.00 in one hour of work.

I guessed you were in a high cost area. Many people are starting to cut their own, family members' and friends' hair for both convenience and cost savings.
the last time i went to my barber i told him to take a little off the left side then Take a lot off the right side then muss up the back real good and make the front crooked ... he said " i cant do that !!! " .. i said " you did the last time i was here " .... i use greatclips every month .. i get the 8 buck senior citizen deal ...
$20 with tip for my barber cut every 2nd Friday. He has a cold beer waiting for me and will do a straight razor shave on my neck. Once a month he'll throw in a free straight razor shave as well. Best thing I spend my money on.
I've been cutting my own hair for over 25 years. About 5 years ago, I found YouTube hair tutorials and found one that works for me. Now I get compliments frequently But my hair is longish and this cut works for me. I tried a shorter cut and I did a horrific job. Luckily my hair grows fast!
I'm glad you found a cheaper option that works for you. $80 for a cut every 5-7 weeks is a lot of money.
I go to a one woman barber shop, she cuts women's and children's hair too.
My husband and I go in about every 6 weeks, she charges $10, we're seniors,
I give her $30, $15 for each of us.
