Austin:
Haircut/style at a trendy haircut place $50 (short hair) or 75 (long)
Maniucure/Pedicure at Vietnamese neighborhood shop $50, eyebrow wax $15
Massage at a neighborhood Spa, $75 for an hour
I am a guy and I go to a salon for my haircuts. I pay $40.00 each time and its just for wash and cut. Been doing it for years and could never see myself going to a plain old barber shop for my hair cuts.
I also like certain products in my hair - American Crew is the only way to go for me.
I'm pretty much around the same prices. I pay $40 for a cut and it's a REALLY good cut. I do get my hair colored and highlighted. If I do just a color and highlight, I don't leave without spending about $170. Add in a cut and well, you do the math. I have great looking hair though! I did try to save money at some point and go to a Hair Cuttery / Supercuts type of place but sorry, they are much better at doing simple mens hair cuts with clippers than actually taking a look at the hair and really figuring out how the hair lays, how to get angles just right ,etc... I have lost faith in the chain hair places. I''ll pay whatever I need to for great hair. LOL
I have very thick super curly hair and I only trust my childhood friend with my hair. Her services are at a discount for me so I pay $55 for highlights and a cut. She generally charges me $15 for the cut and style alone, but since my hair is very long I tip generously.
Waxing $20
Manicures $25
Pedicures are $20
Facial $65
Massage $60
I get my hair washed, cut, highlights, blown dry and styled - $130. I go every two months. When I was a kid my mother always trimmed my hair. Since my hair is fine in texture, color is my friend. Yes, it's expensive, but I work for my money and this a gift to myself. And I look good for work, which is important.
I'd like to get a manicure and pedicure some day. I'm afraid I'd like them too much and get addicted! I've never had a massage, either. Or spent a day at a spa.
My boyfriend goes to another salon and gets a scissor cut (he just doesn't look good with one of those razor cuts at all) and style. $30.

I get shampoo, cut, blow dry and highlights/lowlights (foils), and eyebrows for about $150 including tip. I go every 3 months. This is much lower than most of the salons in my area. I go to a very small shop that I love. Reminds me of Truvy's in Steel Magnolias. Not fancy, but the hairdresser is wonderful and i get great color and cut.

I think that's what's important...that you like the results where you paid $14.00 or $1400.00.
I go to Fantastic Sams only because the girl who has been cutting my hair for 15 years went there to work. If she moves again, I'll follow her. She says I color mine correctly and she couldn't improve on it enough to make it worth my while to pay the $75.00 it would cost me if she did it.
I went to a nice salon once to get my eyebrows done, spent a total of $50.00 and ended up being allergic to the wax or lotion they used. I now I just go to another place I can get it done for $8.00. I think she's just as good or not better than the $50.00 place.
In St.Louis, MO, I always expect to pay around $100-$115 for cut, hi-light, lo-light, and style. Plus I give a $20 tip if I am happy, if I am not, then I give half of that for a tip.
Cut/style - $100
Wash/blow/style - $90
Tip - $12 -20 depending on how happy I am
Nail salons are on almost every block in NYC, so it's very easy to find great deals. At a low-end salon a manicure is usually $7-10. A pedicure is $12-15. Higher end salons will cost at least double.
