I have thick, long hair and I usually use a rubber band to tie it up. However, I would like to use a hair clip. I have purchased from supermarkets before (e.g. Target, Walmart) as well as Claire's in the mall, but they are not strong enough. The ones that have worked best for holding up some hair have been those inexpensive clips used in salons. However, they are not big enough for all of my hair.

Can anyone recommend any? I remember buying one in JC Penny when I was a teenager and it worked. However, they don't sell hair pieces anymore.

google: sally'sbeautysupply.com. When you get the site, click on hair, then scroll down to accessories and see the many pages of stuff they have.

We have a Sally's locally, but you can order on-line.

There are alot more sites too. Just type in hair accessories.

I use small ones from Scunci that are flat on the bottom and seem to work well. I have the same problem as you mentioned.

You can try this site and most of their stuff is around the box stores and drug stores...

These are the ones I use.

I have several "Classic Updo Claw" clips that I purchased at Target. They are the only ones I have ever found that hold my hair up, and KEEP it up. They are made by Goody, and you can see them at this link (I also attached a pic). I twist my hair up, and then put the clip in. Works great!

I just started using an octopus clip by Scunci. I have very long, somewhat thick hair, and this one holds it in a casual up-do without slipping or coming undone.

Buy Scunci Grip Octopus Clip online at CVS.com
