Hi,

We are a family of 4 (two young children) planning our summer vacation to VA Beach. We'd like to stay in the Resort area and rent a condo as close to the beach as possible. We want something really nice (price is not an issue). By "nice" I mean super-clean with modern amenities, indoor pool would be great in case of bad weather. Any advice for specific condos? Or realtors?

Thanks in advance.

I've never stayed at a VA Beach resort, so I don't have first hand experience. I have stayed up in Wburg resorts (a 1.5 hr away) for Busch Gardens, Colonial Wburg, Yorktown, and Jamestown. Sorry I am not more help but figured I would respond to keep it bumped.
I can tell you that I enjoyed Rudee's Inlet Whale tours...they do other other tours too. Rudee Tours | Virginia Beach

Most folks either stay in hotels at the oceanfront or rent homes at the "North End". The Hilton is probably the nicest one there. There are condos at Sandbridge but thats a hike from the resort area.

Thank you, both, for your replies. The reason I wanted a condo is because with 2 young children we need more room than typical hotel rooms offer. But looking at the prices of some of the condos, it might make sense to consider a suite at the hotel. I'll check Hilton. Thanks again!

We have stayed at the Edgewater Condominiums many times and like it. The condition of each unit depends on the owner, but if you call the front office they will help with descriptions. They have 2 bedroom, 2bath, kitchen, dining and living room. And you have got to have breakfast at Pocahontas. The kids will love it.

I live in virginia Beach and seldom venture to the oceanfront after April. But when we do go for a day at the beach, I usually take my family to Sandbridge. It is not on the main resort strip, but it is only about a 12 mile drive. Sandbridge has more of an outer banks feel and is mainly residential homes and beach house rentals. I will post links to the two main rental agencies. I hope this helps, and enjoy your vacation.

I second Sandbridge for a family stay with small children.
