Hello, I am hoping someone can help me. I am 24, and I am going to be moving to the tidewater area for a job, to be exact my job is right next to the newport news airport. I have been doing research and looking at apartments and areas, it seems like there are some apartment complexes that do not have great ratings. I am looking for an apartment, but also I am looking for location. If I had to make a list of requirements of what I am looking for: possible a growing art community (I am an artist), young peoples area, a decent commute to my job, night life ( if i wanted to go out, it would be nice if there was a place to go to), and decent shopping for groceries and drug stores. I really appreciate any input on this. I am open to all options right now. Thank you for your help.

I am not sure what your price range is so these two might be higher then you are looking for but have a good amount of what you are looking for.

Another nice apartment area is Falcon Creek but it is just the apartment complex. It is not far from where you will be working though.

That area isn't that nice so watch out for cheap apartments because crime is a factor in those surrounding areas.
