Has anyone rented from Discount Hawaii Car Rentals recently? We are planning an extended stay on the Big Island and they have been suggested as a long term rental agency.

When we used vacationed here before moving and buying a vehicle we always rented our cars with them on Oahu. Last was 2 years ago.

We have used them extensively for many years on the Big Island; last time was about a month ago. They set up the car rentals for you with a major car rental company. You do not pay them anything. Once they make the reservation for you, then you deal directly with the rental company. One good thing is that you don't have to pay for an additional driver like you would if you rented directly from the rental company.

We used them for a week-long vacation on Maui last March. Definitely the cheapest we found (compared various discounts from credit unions, Costco, union memberships... their price won by a longshot). There were no problems at all with the reservation. I'd use them again.

Thank you all for your replies. Following your recommendations. we have booked a car through them for two months and saved several hundred dollars from the lowest estimate we had previously received searching on our own. Again, Mahalo.
