A couple of days ago i had to have my background check redone for my work with a couple of state lics agency for liguor & Gaming lics for the places we have in there state's ..One of the people taking my fringer print's for the one state had asked for I.D and i pullout my Hawaiian ID & New York state Driver lics to show him and he could run my name as need for NCIC..

The guy asked me why the Hawaiian ID card and i told him that i have a place there on the Big Island and i'm going to retire there next year .

He goes i'm in the wrong business and starts to ask me question about retirement to Hawaii and i explained to him that i gone there many times over the year's and have worked there but i have yet to live there full time.

He goes i'm to have to rethink my retirment plan's

Well I'm going to be very interested in the responses also. We will get the usual health care/ cost of living stories all true , but maybe something on taxes etc...

I move around alot in my line of work and i normaly never get asked question about my former places where i have been living the gentleman was really asking question about retirement there in Big Island and how thing's worked there .So i explained to him some of the basic thing's that moving to Hawaii and how much does it cost to live there .

So i basically explained to him about the service's and doctor and other basic things we older people need when we retired

pull out a Hawaiian Driver Lics or ID card on the mainland and people will asked you all type of quesions about living there

The other day I pulled up behind a pickup truck......and it had Hawaii license plates! I wanted to stop him and talk story, but didn't get to.
