I moved to Hawaii from Oregon and I can tell you the spiders here are nothing compared to the ones in PNW. The only spider bites I've gotten in Hawaii were from the little red red ones that have a sting like a mosquito, just itchy for a couple of days. A bite I got in Oregon hurt like h*** for a week and left a scar for years.

I lived in Wahiawa quite a few years ago and cant remember ever seeing a spider in our house. We now live on the Leeward Coast and still have never seen a spider, do see a gecko every now and then. You will be fine.

Why the avoidance of seeking professional help? You have a serious phobia that is interfering with your life. Get some counseling. It can and will help you!

Really its not bad I never see cane spiders

I only dislike the HFCS (High Fructose Corn Syrup) spiders, because of the elevated use in most processed foods. But they are easier to spot, since their
weight makes them move s-l-ow-l-y, and most are at the doctor's office getting insulin anyway.

In understand your fear but there is no way to avoid them. My suggestion....a big can of bug spray. Good luck :-)

Bug spray's not that effective against cane spiders -- unless one manages to whack 'em with the can.

One of the least messy and environmentally-friendly ways to dispatch cane spiders (mosquitoes, flies, cockroaches, and coqui frogs) is an electric bug zapper, like the one in the link below...

I've made maybe 6-7 trips to Maui starting in 1980, and 5-6 trips to the Puna District on the Big Island, and I now live there since Sept. 5th. I don't dought there are spiders here, but I have yet to see even one. I came from the Pacific Northwest, and saw spiders there a lot. But I have no particular fear of them either.

I'd much rather have spiders than mosquitos.
