Interesting article (to me anyway) about the extinction of bird species in Hawai'i ... I was aware of this but not of the efforts cited in the article:
Aloha, and welcome to the planet's extinction capital

Yep, Hawaii is an ecological disaster. Almost every plant, bird, or other animal you see out there is introduced or invasive.

A super documentary on Crows and their awesome intelligence may be found on PBS "Nature" - "A Murder (flock/group) of crows" -on line too. Man has made so many ecological errors and still tries to destroy the very world in which we live.
One effort being protested is an OIL pipeline 1700 miles LONG from Alberta,
Canada to Houston Texas across seven states! Likely Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas at a minimum. Now, a few days ago, an earthquake hit Oklahoma . So eventually, one hits and breaks said pipeline, spilling oil all over the place. Too, beef cattle, grain, and i=other things will be impacted. Instead of looking at a map, people are saying gas will be cheaper. DUH, but NO where do I see ANY slacking on people buying tank size SUVs, aircraft carrier sized TRUCKS driven by ONE moron, all of which suck gas like crazy. Now, the USA will not be happy until we destroy all aspects of nature and then lament about the good old days! Until then, we allow Mexicans to import illegal drugs and themselves into the nation and make brainless people less so.
There is one "permanent REHAB". Drug users and sellers need a bullet in the head. Case closed.
