Best car/s for living in Hawaii?

I agree, Neeterlou did us all a great service for the details and updating this page to keep all the "vehicle" info together!
So is the general consensus to bring both a small truck/SUV (like a Tacoma) and a smaller, high mpg car (like a Prius)? Or only ship one of those over and plan to purchase the other once moved over to the island?
