Its only 19hrs/week since 20+ hrs/week means that employers have to pay benefits.

Thanks for the responses. I just wanted to see what you guys were going to say. It was just a thought. I can't move where my family lives because there are no jobs there either. I'm in Florida and traveling from Florida to Asia is a killer.

The flight time to Asia from the West Coast versus Hawaii isn't much of a difference.

$5,000 is enough for a very lovely, very short vacation to Hawaii. That's airfare both ways, a couple of nights in a decent hotel, and a few meals out. If you are clever about budgeting, you could get one of those commercial luaus on that budget (if there is only one person that is using the $5,000).

Moving? You'd have to be frugal to put the dedicated frugal to shame and be very lucky to land a job right away. You won't pay moving expenses and support yourself very long with that amount.

The very best feature of Quartzite is that big, long, reeeaaaallll long strip of concrete called I-10, 'cause when it is time to get out of Dodge (or Rambler), the gettin is easy - and cheap.
