Do you ever get tired of the perfect weather? (island, floods)

I know, strange question. Just sitting here in the 100 degree heat for last 2 weeks and knowing below freezing is coming soon. Not unusual to have 50 degree swing in temps in 24 hrs. Do you Hawaii residents ever feel like you take the beautiful weather for granted?

Hmmm, I've always thought of San Diego as having better weather. About 90, humid, with weak trade winds today so not exactly perfect. 72 in San Diego right now sounds just about right.

Well, we complain bitterly if it isn't perfect. Or at least comment on the miserable weather, which is sort of a bitter complaint, island style. We want perfect, we expect perfect. If the winds don't blow from the right direction and the right strength we figure it's all a disaster. If it gets too cold (which is usually anywhere below 68 degrees), we comment to each other about how poor the weather is. If it gets too hot (which is usually anywhere above 78 degrees), we complain and roast to death and stay inside and melt. Too many clouds or if they aren't the fluffy white ones in a blue sky, we complain about the horrid weather. It should be just right all the time. We don't expect a fifty degree weather swing in an entire year! So, we probably do take the weather for granted.

Nope i was never tired of bright sunny weather, or warm rain that you could wear a t-shirt and be ok in. No i am tired of dark, cold, cloudy weather here on the mainland except in summer.

Hotcatz is right though. Those who have never known any different do complain if the trades aren't blowing, or if it's raining, or etc etc etc. People like to complain, they'll always find something.

I don't consider Hawaii as having perfect weather, it is too humid.

I got tired of the perfect weather once in 2006 when it rained for forty days straight. Mudslides, rock slides, road closures, floods. Oh well.

But when I come back from anywhere else in the world I smile when I take that first breath of sweet Hawaiian air. Nice...very nice... :-)

I guess it all depends on what you're comparing "perfect" to. I'd take a good day in Hawaii other than the 40 days of rain.

I only get tired of Hawaii's "perfect weather" during the rainy season.
