Filipinos usually marry other Filipinos, whites, or pacific islanders. It's relatively rare for them to marry East Asians.

By the way, in Hawaii the only people called "Hawaiian" are those of native Hawaiian ancestry. Other groups such as Asians, whites, and Samoans are called Hawaii residents or locals. Your use of the word Hawaiian might confuse some Hawaii residents.

The state, the federal government, and the Office of Hawaiian Affairs all refer to Native Hawaiians as Native Hawaiians. Every English Dictionary defines "Hawaiians" as residents of Hawai'i. News reports, magazine articles refer to residents of Hawai'i as Hawaiians, and people of kanaka maoli heritage as Native Hawaiians, whether they are residents of Hawai'i or not.

Default Hawai'i's Racial and Ethnic Demographics

Hawai'i has long been celebrated as the most racially and ethnically diverse state in the US. Whites are a minority, and they are outnumbered by Asians, taken together as a group. On the other hand, broken out by specific populations, the largest specific Asian group, the Japanese, represent 16.7% of the whole, while whites can claim 24.3%. But by comparison, 21.3% of the total Hawaiian population self-identify as being of two or more races. Matter of fact, that is the single fastest growing demographic in Hawai'i.

^ Is this data from the 2000 census? Those stats are a bit outdated. Filipinos passed Japanese years ago and the Asian alone population has dropped to about 38%. Hawaii is the only state in which the Asian alone percentage is decreasing, although the Asian alone-or-in-combination percentage is about the same.

Hawaiian has multiple definitions, including: A native or resident of Hawaii; especially : one of Polynesian ancestry

Simply saying Hawaiian can be misinterpreted depending on who you're talking to, which is why I either say Native Hawaiian or Hawaii resident

Actually, it's a little more convoluted than that.

Here's a link to the Office of Hawaiian Affairs Native Hawaiian Data Book that sums up most of the various definitions...
Native Hawaiian Data Book 2011: Hawaiian?, "Native Hawaiian" versus "native Hawaiian", Definitiions of "Hawaiian"

I wouldn't trust them English dictionaries very much. They may have it written that way, but we don't use it that way. To everyone I chat with, "Hawaiian" is a specific group of folks related by blood. Nobody I know calls them "Native Hawaiians", at least not in general conversation. If one is writing a scientific paper or something, then those terms might be used. "Kanaka" is used instead of "Hawaiian" if you're talking to someone who would also use "da kine", eh?

"Local" is usually someone who was born here, although after awhile kama'aina slip over into that category. Most times, "local" is a tan person, generally if they stay too pale, then they are "local haole" so you'll know they're not malihini.

As for who mixes with whom, I don't see a lot of Japanese/Chinese marriages. Japanese are more likely to marry Japanese probably more so than some of the other groups. Chinese intermarry with many different groups. Filipino pretty much intermarry with who they want. Samoans and Tongans don't usually inter-marry. However, all this is just general guidelines and can all be tossed out the window for any particular two people.
