Ok guys, I'm checking on all of those. I was looking at the paper but the wrong section, LOL.

I did find Spices, it's Pan-Asian and listed as "cheap eats" so that's always a good thing with a good review!

Re: Molokai....I went with two friends from my teaching days. We also stayed at Hotel Molokai. Very basic, but comfortable enough.

The "bread run" is at a local bakery. They sell fresh loaves from a back entry. We had a cinnamon bread and one other that I can't remember. We had rented a car from a local family-owned company and the woman who did our paperwork told us we should go. It all seemed very mysterious...but there was actually quite a line when we showed up, so we had to wait about half an hour to get our turn at the door.

If I go back, I will be sure to do it again. The bread was a perfect late night treat--we took it out to a park area and sat on the Jeep and enjoyed it under the stars.

Cool!

I did see the name of the bakery while looking around. If I make it there I'll be sure to get some

I've changed my dates a bit so I can spend more time on Muai getting my scuba certification! I'll be in HNL on Feb 4th, leaving Feb 20th

That gives me plenty of dive time and get to go to the Whale Day Parade!!!

Aloha!

Well,

I changed my plans a bit... to get a little more bang for my buck, LOL I'll be there from Feb 4th thru the 20th now I'll be on Maui from the 11th-17th for my scuba lessons and Whale Day stuff, etc.!

I'm still trying to decide if I should stop on Molokai on the 10th and spend the night there. That is a Sunday, would the bread place be open theat night?

If you're looking for a place to stay on Maui, avoid giving into the cheap prices at The Banana Bungalow and Maui Beach.

You can whale watch almost anywhere. If you see water, pull over. That's it. There are a ton of look out points and even if there aren't any where you are, as long as you see water, you'll see whales(if you're in the right city).

I'm not staying there but I'm curious now... why not stay there? What's the scoop?

Tourists aren't really welcomed there. Familiar with California? It's like staying in Compton.

I think they are open on Sunday--you might want to google search "Molokai bread run" and call the bakery to be sure. Have fun!

Cool! I'll do that. I think I might fly there on the 10th, rent a bike and go check out Mo'omomi Preserve... do the bread place and spend the night. Do a bit of snorkeling in the morning and then fly over to Maui in the last flight. I found an inexpensive place at A'ahi Place... how's that sound?
