I've lost track of which storm is supposed to be where, but a lightening storm went through here (Hamakua coast) this afternoon. My neighbor and her cat saw a small lightening strike the vacant pasture behind her house. The cat fluffed up into four times it's size and zipped off into the underbrush on the other side of the house. If anyone finds a lost yellow cat, send it back this way. Although I'm sure it will come back again when it misses it's food dish. There was all sorts of lightening and there wasn't even enough time to count "one" let alone "one thousand" before the thunder. No wind with it, just lightening, thunder and then after awhile lots of rain. It lasted about two hours or so perhaps. All quiet again with no wind or rain now.

I'm in Ewa and we have black clouds, and the wind just picked up a bit. We are supposed to be outside of the weather advisories but I think we will get some action. Trying to decide whether (weather) to venture out this morning or not.

No.

We had torrential rain today, as did a lot of Oahu.

Stay safe!

I hope everyone is remaining on alert for Jimena. Some models aren't looking so good for us...

Sure, but just where are you going to store all that toilet paper, SPAM and rice?? ESPECIALLY in Hilo? After a while the rice will be half cooked, just sitting in the bag, the toilet paper will be good for sani wipes, at least the SPAM has a shelf life of a few decades.. Or does SPAM have a half life??

As it it's, just got off the water, and it is nice out there

The can will disintegrate before the SPAM will. I've not tested it with the Geiger counter though. My friend has one, I'll have to try sometime. I wouldn't be surprised if the counter goes nutz.
