Doesn't look like any place I'm familiar with on Kauai. My guess is French Polynesia. The ridges and mountains seem more "pointy" there, as in the photo.

That's South Kihei Road, right across from Kama'ole 1, on a Sunday afternoon, in January. The beach, which is out of frame, is on the right.

I've heard Kona winds cause gaseous emissions.

Are you sure? My point earlier was that the picture he posted himself said it was on lanai.

Nowhere in Hawaii would you have a motorbike going down the middle of a lonely paved street. Well, maybe for a poser photo shoot.

It's certainly not Lanai. I'll go along with KauaiHiker.

Zoom in on the liscence plate. It's too fuzzy to read but you can see it has a very dark background with 5 white characters. Does that match the format for moped license plates in Hawaii? I did a quick Google search but didn't find moped plate specs.

I'd go with French Polynesia somewhere, too. The mountains are too eroded for most of the ones we have in Hawaii. Possibly it could be Kauai, if it was in Hawaii, but the rest of the other islands are too new.

Different shade of blue for the sky, but that is a subtle thing, it could just be the photo.

Good eye, 67Cam, on the license plate. Nope, that's not a Hawaii moped license plate.
