My married friend is considering a move to Hawaii and is wondering about working as a retail pharmacist specifically, but also what is working retail like in general.
The cost of living seems pretty high also, but with a combined income of over $175,000 gross and no children, would they live comfortably if both worked full time?

I worked many retail jobs when I lived in Honolulu and some other areas. I don't want to get too specific about where I worked but retail jobs are the worst and retail jobs in Hawaii have to be at the bottom of the barrell. You have to deal with obnoxious tourists and their attitudes along with racist Hawaiians and their attitudes. My advice is stay where you are. If your making $175,000 then save up some money and visit hawaii often. You won't make that kind of cash in Hawaii and the cost of living is outrageous.
