Amazed that the bike-tour companies can get liability insurance. It'seems only a matter of time before someone gets hit biking the area from mid-Kona through Miloli'i.
Particularly due to the sporadic nature of the tours. Seems like I won't see them for months, then all of a sudden they are there for a few days.
If it was more consistent, locals would come to expect seeing them on the road and it would likely be safer for them.

I knew a guy in the 80's that lived in Hawaii with no car. He would usually borrow his boss's car (Ferrari) and if he needed to take a trip he would call an old buddy from Vietnam to give him a ride in his helicopter. Thomas had a friend with a yacht so if he wanted to go by water he would just call his friend Rick.
