Probably the only option would be the Vault health test that has to be ordered several days in advance. You administer it yourself at home via a zoom meeting and then UPS it to lab. Or perhaps a Walmart drive up testing
spot if in your area. There are 500 approved locations nationwide. Most of the testing options are West coast only.

I thought CVS was an approved test site, aren't they all over the country?

No - large areas of the country not covered by CVS testing - for instance, the entire Pacific Northwest to the Dakota's - large parts of the South - nothing in Iowa, etc

On reopening

Airport very busy - 10,000 arrivals per day

25% of hotels open on Oahu

Maybe 50% of businesses open in Waikiki

No bars open will shock many

That's actually bad for the bars, but good for the restaurants that serve alcohol.

In a way, it may be better if bars open since it will help spread the tourists out.

Hopefully the cases can be controlled because this is absolutely necessary for hawaii's recovery. People don't realize it, but there's a hard stop on unemployment benefits for the long term unemployed at 12/31/20. That along with ending the rent moratorium means that unless something is done now, hawaii's economy will absolutely crash in the coming months.

Default The Swedish Model

Sweden, which many of the virus-scoffers have pointed to as a model for the rest of the world, is now introducing lockdowns to try to control the huge spike in Covid-19.

Their death rate has reached 10 times that of their neighboring countries.

America has the world's 10th highest rate and Sweden is 12th.

Is that bad? Seriously, the treatment (making people unemployed) in my opinion is far than the consequences.

More people will die today from heart disease. But because we let people kill themselves with fast food and alcohol that’s ok?

Why don’t people focus on the millions of recoveries instead of being doom and gloom

Ask this guy:

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-...covid-22864352

Oops, you can't...he's dead at 33 from heart disease caused by Covid-19.

If I knew for sure I would be safe, I wouldn't worry at all. Meanwhile I try to be somewhat careful.

Even so, I am contemplating a trip to Las Vegas just before or after New Year's Eve.

This attempt at equivalency has been deflated many times. The difference is:
1. Most heart disease is lifestyle induced by the sufferer.
2. There are many protocols for treatment of heart disease

Neither 1. nor 2. Is true of Covid 19.

Well, bummer after all - but he is one of 7.5 Billion.

But we can save all those sufferers - just because they don't know any better - shouldn't we save them? More deaths per day from Covid for years and years ago and to come. Can we save them from themselves?

Anyway - I look at Nick Saban and Cam Newton lately - back on the football field in a week. You are trying to save us all from a virus that many people will never show a single symptom - none - zero - nada. If it wasn't for daily testing for them - they'd (and us) would never know they had it. So to penalize the many for the needs of the few is crazy.
