In Vegas now - roughly 99% of people maskless - all the dividers at tables have been taken down - all social distancing signs removed - very surreal here as it is literally pre-pandemic back to normal - will be interesting to see how long visitor numbers can keep up with Hawaii's mask mandate

Went into Kailua-Kona Home Depot today and the greeter informed me masks were no longer required. Felt wierd walking around without it. Most folks were still masking.

To be fair, Vegas is known for gambling.

It’s not just Vegas. I think it’s 5 or less states requiring masks.

Really? I thought Hawaii still had a state wide mask mandate for indoors? Surprised a large corporation like HD would buck that order.

I bet every state without a mask mandate has legal gambling. Hawaii does not.

Uh, no. California has more gambling than Nevada - and a mandate until June 15.

Every state has a form of legal gambling except Hawaii and Utah (no mandate)

My bet was about states without a mask mandate having legalized gambling so CA doesn't count against me. Utah is the ONE exception of a state that has no mask mandate AND no legal gambling. And with Utah's population density of only 35.8 people per square mile can they be taken seriously as a state?

Not if the infection numbers keep going up the way they are. There will be no "normal" for a long time.

When COVID-19 began analysts predicted that Hawaii would have a boom post pandemic. Americans who normally travel to other countries were expected to want to play it conservative and head to domestic vacation places. Hawaii's success comes at the expense of Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, etc.
