Hawaii Five-O

Has anyone been following the previews for the new Hawaii Five-O on CBS?

It looks pretty interesting; especially for us Hawaii lovers.

I haven't seen any previews but I heard about it being on the line-up just yesterday and was very excited, indeed. I was especially happy to hear about it since LOST is coming to an end (brb...cryin forever! ;_; ) thereby eliminating not only my favorite show ever (er, well, at least right up there with Northern Exposure, Twin Peaks, ST:TNG, Seinfeld, and, and ... Ok ONE of my all time favorites, at least! :-p) but also my weekly Hawaii scene fix. ;__;

Do you know if they'll actually be filming on location in Hawaii?

Yes it has already been shot on location in Hawaii, at least the first season.

CBS market research showed that many were turned off by Alex O'Loughlin as Steve McGarrett with an Australian accent. However, CBS ignored that as they have a talent development deal with O'Loughlin, who starred in two failed CBS series so far - Moonlight and Three Rivers.

Market research also showed that people were turned off by Scott Caan's abrasive portrayal of Danny Williams. Again, CBS ignored that and picked up the series.

I hope it works out but one thing you don't do is ignore your audience.

Market research sucks. I bet a lot of shows wouldn't exist if the brass went solely by market research

A lot of shows have been canceled because market research sampled/polled audiences that wouldn't have watched the show in the first place
