The website doesn't work, and their 800 lines are constantly busy. I've been trying for the past few weeks and nothing is working. Can I be penalized if the reason I don't sign up is their faulty website? Will there be another extension?

What are my options?

You have until 3/31/14 to get insurance and not be fined.

I didn't wait until the last day. I've been trying for the past few weeks, even going as far as to leave messages on their official Facebook page.

Thanks. At least I don't have to rush.

Is there any way to apply via snail mail?

I'm in the same boat...been frantically trying to get through by website, on line chat, phone, whichever way I can reach first.

Obamacare: Deadline to sign up for January 1 coverage is here - CNN.com

If you are not eligible for a subsidy,(46K income for a single person, 94K for a family of 4) just enroll directly via an insurance company. Much easier with less BS and immediate confirmation that you have insurance when you make first premium payment via electronic check or credit card.

Covered California is still down. I spent nearly an hour online waiting to chat with customer service. My wait finally counted down to zero and I got a message saying there were no agents available and to try again later.

Great!
