I consider myself lucky in that I don't need a lot of doctorin' at this stage of life. I go to my Primary every 4 months, and it costs me 10 bucks. He draws a Lipid Panel and the blood work is covered. I may change into a supplemental Plan at some time in the future, but for now.....the Advantage Plan is good for me.

The $50 premium at UHC was for their version of Advantage.

That's why I suggested the OP at least get the details of what the Advantage covers.

You said you may change to a supplemental plan in the future, but are you aware you have to go through medical underwriting? If you are not healthy, you will either be denied or have to pay a higher premium.

After I moved to Tennessee from Florida, I decided to see if I could change my medigap High deductible F to another company to bring my premium down. I have an aortic aneurysm and for many carriers that was an automatic No. But my agent found one that didn't have a problem with it as long as there were no signs of it getting larger. So going through medical underwriting isn't all black and white. Different companies have different parameters.
