Hi there,
My Mom's 66 and has COPD and diabetes. She needs a left knee replacement. Has anyone had this done with similar health conditions or knows anyone who has? Was the outcome a good one I hope? How did it go and what happened during and afterward?
Thank you so much for any advice you could give. I'm just so worried and don't want my Mom to end up in a wheelchair. She is also head of household as she takes care of my stepfather who has dementia and is unable to drive. Ughhh.
Thanks again and take good care!
Diane
p.s. If it was done in Reno/Sparks/Carson who was your surgeon? She's seen Dr. Ryan Dobbs there and he says she's not a good candidate. I don't quite understand because it's been done countless thousands of times and there's other ways to numb the bottom half besides a general so I'm at a bit of a loss - hopefully not in the future though!
