I am unsure if this forum is the right place for this question and I should consult a GP but before I do so, I am wondering if anyone knows anything about this:
I have had tonsillitis for about a week, at least I have felt a sharp pain in one of my tonsils, but they haven't been very swollen and the pain has been mild. There were no visible white spots.
Last night, I believe I coughed out two tonsil stones but they were black, when I checked in the mirror in the morning I noticed a small hole in my right tonsil, or (the tissue above it?) The tonsils are still not very swollen and the pain in my right tonsil is almost gone, but the white spots are visible and the hole has appeared as mentioned.
I am wondering if this is normal tonsillitis or perhaps a complication?

I would consult a doctor, this doesn't sound like tonsillitis to me. I had it enough back in the day, my tonsils were always completely covered in white stuff that looked like cauliflower. And my throat was very sore and red and swollen.

If your insurance allows you to go to any phsyician, I would pay a visit to a board certified Otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat specialist).
If you have had tonsillitis for a week, you should have seen a physician a while ago. Additionally, if you are spitting up stones, it could be indictive of a blocked submandibular gland (a salivary gland, located under the jaw).
In my experience with a child who had extreme bouts of tonsillitis and enlarged adnoids (she since has had them both removed).....she never had anything like you described and her throat was extremely sore.
I concur, for what that is worth...lol, get yourself to a GP, at least ,then on to a specialist.
