I was traveling from Oregon to Cali. a few days ago and there was a fly in my car that I could not get rid of. I sprayed it with liquid Windex (that’s all I had) and tagged it with a small towel once or twice, but to no avail. It was annoying. I had all the windows and moonroof opened on the freeway, but it would not leave. I'd pull into a rest stop to try and sleep but it kept biting me. I'd see it fly out, then come right back in before I could close the window.
After the damage was done, I had to slip Levis over my short pants and put a long-sleeved shirt on. As stated, it gave almost two dozen bites that are extremely itchy that look like and feel like mosquito bites. Anyone heard of flys that bite? What can I put on them? It’s so annoying. Any suggestions would help.

Have you tried spraying that Windex on any of the bites? I put some on a red ant bite and it took the pain away immediately. If not that, add some epsom salts to your bath.

Wash with soap & cool water. Use hydrocortisone cream. Take ice cubes & wrap in a towel or pillow case & place where it itches. Don't put ice cubes directly on your skin.

Hydrocortisone cream is available at any drugstore, supermarket, etc. It's right on the shelf.

There are all kinds of flies that bite: horse flies, deer flies, black flies, sand flies.......Try witch hazel, it's worked for me in the past. Aloe vera is also supposed to work well.

Thanks all for your suggestions. I'm heading out to the pharmacy now.
