i created a thread a few months ago about getting my thyroid tested... i finally had it tested and my doctor just called and said everything came back normal. i have no idea what she even tested, should i call and ask for the details of what she tested? or should i just assume everything is good?
obviously it's good that everything is fine but i'm just disappointed b/c the fatigue i have is unreal and i was really hoping that that was the culprit... not sure where to go from here.

You should ask specifically what blood tests were done, TSH and Free T4 are the standard.

^^yes^^
I also wonder if you have had a complete physical exam with all the routine lab tests to rule out anemia, electrolyte imbalance, kidney or liver issues ....
Unfortunately there are many causes of fatigue and it can be difficult to track down
OP, yes you should know what tests were done and as grandpaTom mentioned you should have a
Comprehensive Metabolic Panel and a CBS done as well. I would also have your vitamin D checked.
A few years ago, my doctor agreed to speak to me about my lab work however his nurse called
and told me everything seemed fine. Since I felt weak and fatigued for over a year I went to
a specialist. The specialist ordered additional blood tests and as it turned out, I had almost
no vitamin D. If my previous MD really read the original labwork, one of the test results
definitely showed something was wrong. It wasn't life threatening but that oversight made
my life miserable for 15 months.
Docs SHOULD test T3, T4 and TSH and remember we are NOT numbers. We are symptoms..find a doc who will help support your symptoms. I went 10 yrs of horrific depression with "good numbers mantra"... The old school doctors treated by symptoms. Today's teachings are "we are numbers". Sluggish thyroid has about 69 symptoms, one major one is fatigue.
There are many other hormone issues too but thyroid is major. I've been taking DHEA for probably 15+ yrs and it helps with a lot of hormonal support..do a search on it. Get your DHEA levels tested. Find an integrative MD.
